North America’s Largest Automotive Supplier To Build Manufacturing Facility In Mesa

MESA, AZ (August 8, 2024) – Today, the Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council and the City of Mesa announced that Magna, a mobility technology company and one of the largest suppliers in the automotive space, is building a manufacturing facility in Mesa, Arizona. Located at Power Industrial Park, the nearly 230,000-square-foot facility is expected to create hundreds of new jobs. Representing a multi-million-dollar investment, Magna’s new manufacturing facility highlights Arizona’s rapidly-growing automotive ecosystem that includes electric vehicle manufacturers and automated vehicle innovators.

Amkor and U.S. Department of Commerce Announce Up To $400 Million In Proposed Direct Funding Through The CHIPS Act

TEMPE, AZ (July 26, 2024) – Amkor Technology, Inc., a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and test services, announced today it has signed a non-binding preliminary memorandum of terms with the U.S. Department of Commerce to receive up to $400 million in proposed funding as part of the CHIPS and Science Act. Amkor announced in November 2023 its plans to build its first domestic OSAT (outsourced semiconductor assembly and test) facility in Peoria, Arizona. Amkor plans to invest approximately $2 billion and employ approximately 2,000 people at the new facility. Upon completion, the Peoria facility will be the largest outsourced advanced packaging and test facility in the United States. Amkor has secured approximately 55 acres to build a state-of-the-art manufacturing campus with over 500,000-square-feet of clean room space. The first phase of the manufacturing facility is expected to be ready for production within three years.
